Poured from a 12 oz. can. Has a golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is of citrus, light tropical fruit. Taste follows the aroma, a hint of dankness, moderate bitterness. Feels medium/full bodied in the mouth and overall this is an enjoyable beer.

12 oz can. Pours hazy golden with tall, long lasting, fluffy white head. Aroma is of citrusy hops, bready malt and tropical fruit. Body is medium and slightly crisp. Taste is similar to aroma. Finish is long and dry. Pleasant brew.

Flying Fish Brewing Co. "Untold Riches"
12 fl. oz. can
$2.29 @ Total Wine & More, Cherry Hill, NJ

Notes via stream of consciousness: Here we have another tropical IPA, most likely like many others, so what out of the thousands upon thousands of them on the market today merits the name "Untold Riches"? Let's find out. A rough pour has brought up no more than a finger's width of slightly off-white foam atop a hazy golden body. The aroma is pleasant and welcoming with sweetish and grainy malt tempered with grassy and fruity notes. On to the taste... there's even more fruitiness there! It's tropical with melon, guava, peach, orange, and pineaple but there's also some berry and apple to it. The flavors are clear but not really distinct as they are in some IPAs and this comes across more like a tropical fruit punch or fruit salad. The bitterness is median leaning toward moderate allowing the sweetness of the malt to show upfront but then drying it in the end where it lingers with fading fruit and rising resins and grass. The body is medium and it's surprisingly crisp on the tongue given that I don't see a whole lot of bubbles rising. Those that I do see are very tiny so I'm inclined to believe that it's just got a nicer, more natural carbonation to it. All in all I don't get the "Untold Riches" side of it but it is quite nice and i will certainly keep my eye out for more.

This beer pours a very nicely, pale with shades of bronze, pretty much crystal clear with the slightest bit of little cloudiness; white head, cohesive and dense, good retention and some real nice lacing.

The nose is quite pleasing…refreshing and bright fruit notes, slightly tropical, pineapple like, but mostly all sorts of bright and sweet orange citrus, little bit of rind like character which is very welcoming.

Taste confirms the nose and leans heavily into bright zippy orange citrus, fruit salad like in the aftertaste; a melange of refreshing but not overpowering fruitiness…a nice resiny bite on the finish, and….a really pleasant bit of malt presence that keeps the hops in check.

A medium body beer that drinks very nice, not heavy at all, very clean and crisp, moderate bitterness, reminds me of the bitterness you get bitting orange skin, dry on the finish.

This is a type of new IPA I can enjoy, it is old school through and through in feel; albeit a tad lower in bitterness and with some slight tropical presence. It is very drinkable and balanced, clean and bright…there is enough fruit vibe to please the new hop lovers too. A very well made beer, I’d gladly try again.
