375 mL bottle poured into a Belgian tulip.
Shows a cola-like frothy oatmeal head. Brown and amber in body. 4.25
Tart burnt caramel and red wine. Floral, brett-y character. 4
Getting some unripe dark cherry, caramel and bready malts, brown sugar, and a surprisingly ashy, smoky finish. 4.25
A full-bodied vinous quality very similar to a rich red wine, but with sweeter and smokier elements. The creamy smoky interplay is pretty awesome. 4.25
I had gotten nervous and skeptical about Finback for a while but this redeems this brewery for.

A - Nearly black. Very, very deep ruby colour. Small amount of light comes through when held up. Initial two finger deep beige head faded fast. Strong carbonation coming up. Virtually no lace and a good ring of retention.
S - Lot's of grape, some acidity, apple cider vinegar quite prevalent. Some fruit, vinegar.
T - Good fruity note, sweet dark fruit with a vinegar/acidic note. Dustiness.
M - Dry and a bit tart to finish, strong carbonation, medium body.
O/D - This is a nice, drinkable, and surprisingly complex wild ale for it's strength. The sweetness surprised and the acidity and/or wild yeast character didn't dominate but made itself known.
