On tap at The Old Toad in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a dark orange-ish/yellow, with a small head, and a good amount of soapy looking lacing.
Smells like honey, big and brash Citra hops, malty sweetness, and a bit of booze.
This isn't all that drinkable, for a couple of reasons. It's got a fairly intensely syrupy character to it, unfortunately. There's some definitely some dirty and brash Citra here, with the big malt character adding an intense sweetness. It's hard to drink a lot of this, as it's not very balanced to me, at all.
As said above, the mouthfeel on this is syrupy, sugary, and too thick, with a fairly hot finish, a bit boozy. The carbonation level feels lower but it's certainly not too low.
It has it's moments, as Citra is a great hops, but I think it's just too much and a bit unbalanced. Triple IPAs are rarely my thing, though.

Excellent ipa. Well balanced, not too floral/hoppy. Dangerously drinkable given the high ABV, which is actually 10.2% not the 9.8 listed here.

A: The beer is slightly hazy amber yellow in color and has a light amount of visible carbonation. It poured with a short off white head that died down, leaving wispy traces of bubbles on the surface and a thin collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Initial aromas of oranges and mangos transition towards notes of pine.
T: The taste has flavors of piney hops along with strong notes of citrus and tropical fruit hops. There is a light to moderate amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and slightly smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation. There is a touch of warming from the alcohol towards the finish.
O: This is a very complex IPA that exhibits aromas and flavors of citrus, dank pine, and tropical fruits. While it definitely tastes strong, the alcohol isn't all that noticeable nd doesn't detract from the taste.
Serving type: growler
