Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a cloudy orange/red color with a small cap of a little white semi-foamy to slightly bubbly head. Not much lace but a tad bit more than alot of American wild ales I've seen.
The aroma had a nice contour of lemon/berry scent rolling into light notes of sweet grass. More strawberry-ish to blackberry character as it warmed.
The flavor mixed the prior mentioned aromas sourly to an ample tart quality and adding in a nice level of sweet for a thoroughly wonderful experience. Temperamental aftertaste of lemon/berry character.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping to sessionable sort of quality about it. Carbonation and ABV felt good. Finish had some lemon/berry spritiziness strolling along with a light zesty harshness.
Overall, pretty damn nice American wild ale I'd come back to.

Beautiful color! It's so cute! Light on the nose with nuances of aroma. Has a sharp lemon zest which dissipates with a berry presence. Finishes with a chalky consistency that makes you pucker like a homemade lemonade

This did not hit the spot for me. One dimensional, some what tart, no real fruit flavor to speak of. Overall kind of boring and just not really my thing. maybe nice on a hot day,

This was the last of the recent Finback beers that I traded for and enjoyed while still fresh! Didn't know what to expect with this and as I poured it out, I could tell that this was a different beast. Seemed like a Gose because of the hue and bubbly head but once I gave it a sip, it was possible to think of this as an American Wild Ale.
As with most beers of this style, I was enamored with the pour as it had the appearance of passion fruit with lots of head on top that sounded like sea foam as it quickly retreated. A fair amount of lemon, salt, blackberry, and lactobacillus was in the nose as the sweet and sour aspect really kicked in once I took a sip. The taste was Sprite-like (I'd rather obey my thirst with this!) and quite dry as the malt was very neutral and recessed - probably being cracker or wheat-like. Enough carbonation was present to keep this lively as the wild aspects emerged in the aftertaste, as the yeast and raw berry notes had a chance to fully emerge.
Like most beers of this style, it would be easy to crack another one of these open after finishing this off. Offerings like this are great for this time of year as they're thirst-quenching without being too light or heavy. If you can get past the yeast, there's a lot to like here from start to finish. Fun stuff that clearly deserves another go-around during a future release!

As this beer warmed it released an intoxicating mix of aromas touching on the lemon berry family along with light doughy cracker malts. Wonderful balance of fruit and malt behind a bold tartness.

Sour ale. Raspberries, lemon, lime, unripe blackberry and lacto sourness. Simple, wheat like malt profile. Dry, sour finish. Not too sweet. Straightforward. Not bad.

A good sour ale, but would be better if the pucker-factor was turned down juuust a notch
