Hazy yellow to gold color. Moderate head but it provides great blanketing lace.
More hoppy nose than the Kölsches available in Cologne, Germany. Smells like an APA. .
This is a good beer but certainly not a Kölsch. The body is smooth with an elevated carbonation level. The flavor is sweeter than the style but the hop bitterness provides great balance. The flavor has some stone fruit (apricot) sweetness which the strong hop bitterness balances. A very good beer, just not what one expects.

On-tap at Albion, New York, NY
A: The beer is clear light yellow in color and has a moderate amount of carbonation. It poured with a short white head that died down, leaving a thin layer of bubbles consistently covering the surface and the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of crackery malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, but has some additional lnotes of papayas from the hops
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation. Slight hints of dryness are perceptible.
O: This is an interesting twist on the style, with the papaya flavors replacing those normally occupied by the green grapes.
Serving type: on-tap
