It had been ages since I reviewed a beer from Finback as I used to hit them up quite often. Canned on 5/4/18 with "YODA" written underneath it, this plush brew was like a pillow in glass - very soft and fluffy but just needing a bit more body to it. Sure, I enjoyed drinking it as had held up pretty well over time but in the end, I was hoping for some more hops and bitterness to it!
This had a cloudy, muted peach hue to it with very little light coming through and lots of sediment at the bottom of the liquid - but much of that had to be my fault as I let this age too much! Tons of head to top it off but the lacing was sparse which seemed like too big a contrast to me. Peach, guava, soft orange cream, and sweetness in the nose as everything was amplified in the taste. A Tired Hands beer on steroids is what this felt like as the lactose sweetness and fruit juice was just taken up to another level. Unfortunately, it seemed too surreal and not like an actual beer from a can.
Not surprisingly, there wasn't any alcohol to be detected as this mindlessly went down and made me feel like I just had a slush drink from the county fair. This wasn't disappointing as much as it was just odd and one-dimensional. Once in a while, I like to have a "fun beer" but I don't think this was meant to be that. At least this had my name in the moniker!

Canned 5/04/18
Big fluffy head, pillowy, fades slowly, good retention and lacing, murky peach orange colour
Nose some dankness, musty guava and dank tropical fruit, into big mango, juicy mango and the stringy center, nice juicy citrus, fluffy malt
Taste starts with more musty guava and dank tropical, bordering piney and herbal, then big mango, juicy mango flesh and more stringy center, juicy citrus, creamy orange, little generic juicy tropical and citrus, creamy fluffy base malt, sticky finish, bit more generic tropical and pith, wish the finish was drier
Mouth is med bod, good fluffy carb, fair soft juicy feel
Overall pretty nice beer, missing a few things to be great

Love Finback, don't like IPAs with fruit additions... so we'll see. 16oz. can into Heady Topper stemless snifter.
Nose is guava, sweet peach and mandarin orange. Solid but pretty mellow. Beer opens guava, peach and citrus fruit. A bouquet of tropical fruit sweetness in the middle. Almost too much malt. Like drinking a fruit smoothie. Ends the same with a consistent balance of sweet peach, guava brightness and citrus spritz throughout. This is good... but again, lacks any semblence of balance. Is it even beer at this point? Or just a fruit shake? Body is soft with moderate to low carbonation. Super smooth and luscious on the palate and goes down silky and mellow with near no aftertaste save a light sweetness the barely lingers on the palate.
A good beer... and given the style, better than average for me. But still, I want a little more character to my beers than just fruit smoothie.
