another fine hazy ipa from finback, they seem to be unending, not only from these guys but from all the trendy nyc operations nice that there is no shortage of whats cool! this is another dry hoppy one, juice and fruit forward to be sure, but i appreciate it having some bitterness to it too, even if it manifests itself in the form of a little hop bite, its okay, its green and fresh and has a finish, which is really all i can ask for from one of these. notes of pineapple and pine and papaya and mango, a little oily slick sweetenss to it, and a delicate grain base that has some body but not a lot of flavor and is very dry, the hops really do stand up on their own here both in aroma and flavor. green and new, post fermentation and fruity, kids cereal and tropical fruit, orange peel, and even under ripe banana are all there for me. wheaty and smooth, well carbonated, and no sugar to finish at all. not sure what the hops are, its certainly not wildly unconventional, but there are some nice wrinkles built in. delicious and fresh, this is what these guys do best! awesome to have it in town for gabf time, glad i didnt miss this one!

Reviewed approximately one week after can release. Poured from 16 oz. can into tulip glass. It pours a cloudy, pale straw-yellow color with a half finger of foamy bright white head and a thin sheen of lacing. The smell features lemon, grapefruit, and pineapple. The hops were barely noticeable in the nose. Its taste is far more tart and bitter than I anticipated (in a good way) with grapefruit rind and bitter lemon. The Idaho 7 hops are flavorful with a nice bite. It finishes fairly astringent with a strong dose of pepper. This ale has lively carbonation and at 6% it's a really easy drinker. Overall, I have to say that Something 007 really grew on me as I drank the can. It's a bold, in your face beer with big flavor but is easy to drink. Well done!
