Poured into a 13 oz tulip glass not sure when it was canned. Pours a hazy orange yellow with a few floaties, with a 2 finger sticky white head that leaves thin streaks of lace with nice retention. 4

Aroma is juicy grapefruit but still not overly bitter. Tangerine, passionfruit, and apricot lend a small hand. 4

Taste is pink grapefruit but again it is not crazy bitter, almost tropical and lively. Other tropical flavors tangerine, passionfruit, a kiss of blueberry, and apricot. 4.25

Mouthfeel is a little above average, soft gentle life, maybe a tad dry, and at 8% it is a little bigger in flavor, but not just a puckering grapefruit bomb. 4

Overall I am enjoying it, blown away no. A very nice beer experience. 4

A: Poured from the can into a tulip glass. Body is hazy golden with chunks and chunks of sediment. A big fluffy 2-finger white head settles on top.

S: Modest nose of grapefruit and citrus over straw/grainy malt.

T: Grapefruit juice mixed with beer - think sweeter citrus, grapefruit juice, and some grainy malt for foundation. On the sweeter side overall. ABV not noted on the palate, but some warmth is felt in the belly.

M: Kinda standard for a DIPA - a little slick and thicker, but not so much so that it's syrupy. Carbonation modest.

O: Not bad, not great.

16oz can purchased from the fridge as a single for $6.25. Canned on 03/08/23, so this is just over three months old.

Look: Pours a moderately hazy yellowish orange color. I can see tiny particulates in suspension near the bottom of the glass where more light enters. Nice steady stream of small bubbles rising up to the surface. There is a thin, wispy rim of eggshell-colored head. Some lacing.

Smell: Grapefruit and some floral notes, along with pine. The finish smells a bit juicy. After swirling the glass, the aromas are dank, very earthy, and give way to green bell pepper.

Taste: The taste basically mirrors the aromas. The 8.0% ABV shows itself, which is a bit disappointing for me because I think that this would otherwise be very drinkable. It has good grapefruit flavor with the zest, pith, and some juice. The finish is significantly bitter and chalky.

Feel: It's nicely carbonated and has a soft, fluffy mouthfeel. Medium to medium plus body.

Overall: I think that this beer has decent potential. I think that it's entirely possible that this beer could be very different when consumed fresher. I'm pretty sure that it was just recently distributed to my local bottle shop. For me, this iteration misses the mark.

Straight orange cloud. Aroma mostly of citrus but the taste is more complex. Yes, you get a lot of grapefruit but the hops are there in good order, some grassiness and a bit of bitterness to balance the fruit. Thick, creamy mouthfeel. Very good version of a fruited IPA.

Opaque, lemon-yellow brew, with some unattractive but not massive floaties. Good head production and decent retention.

Lovely if uncomplicated aroma. Sharp tropical fruit, but there's no strong sense of the added grapefruit.

The nose translates well to the palate. It's a bit more acidic and sour due to the grapefruit, and perhaps a bit more earthy, but honestly it's so well incorporated into the brew that you'd likely never know if you weren't informed going into it. It's also not over the top in terms of grapefruit flavor, for those who aren't fans of the intensely sour fruit.

Wonderfully creamy mouthfeel with a nice lively bite.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy and a bit pale yellow in color. It poured with a quarter finger high white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of grapefruit are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and is dominated by flavors of grapefruit, which also linger into the finish.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This IPA has lots of grapefruit and seems like someone added some grapefruit juice to an IPA.

Another excellent DIPA from a Finback.
Cloudy light yellow-gold color with a 4F head in A Spielgelau IPA glass.
Grapefruit aroma with added sweetness. It becomes more earthy with warming.
Intense grapefruit taste, with some sweetness, followed by a spicy moderately hoppy finish.
Finback is one of the best DIPA Brewers in the country.
