16oz. bottle into Night Shift stemware.
Nose is chocolate, molasses, fudge, vanilla, sweet soy sauce and a touch of roasted malt and cocoa powder. Very aromatic. Sticky. Luscious. Beer opens chocolate, vanilla and molasses. Like the nose, sticky, sweet. More molasses, cocoa powder and fudge in the middle with some sweet soy sauce, anise and a subtle nuttiness in the back. Chestnut is nowhere to be found. Sweet, syrupy finish. Body is full with low carbonation. Super smooth and rich on the palate and goes down dense, warm and sticky. Long, lingering aftertaste. Perfect for the style.
Once in a while, Finback reminds us that the best style they do is still the Imperial Stout. This is a great example of that. A fantastic beer.
