Brew pours a clear and dark purple, neatly matching the hue on the can. It's a shocking appearance, but quite attractive, with solid head production and decent retention for the style.

Quite tart and sour on the palate. Ginger and lime are both present in varying strengths, along with berry-like sweetness and vinegar-like sourness.

-ebony tap pour with almost no visible carbonation. The aroma is of toasted malt and grilled lemon. The flavor is mildly tart with the stated ingredients, ginger and lime most definitely detectable. This is more refreshing than I would have guessed and would be a summer night option for me. It is quite unique

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short beige head that rapidly dissipated, leaving just a narrow collar of bubbles around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of sour limes are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell, having moderately strong flavors of limes along with hints of ginger and a moderate amount of sourness.
M: It feels light- to medium-bodied and very tart on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This is an interesting sour ale that looks like a stout from afar but has nice flavors of limes with bits of ginger.
