16oz. capped bottle into Night Shift stemware. Shared with schen9303.
One of the darkest mocha heads I've seen in a while. Nose is cocoa powder, roasted malt, semi-sweet chocolate and sweet soy sauce. More Russian Imperial Stout than anything else on the nose. Oddly subtle. Beer opens baker's chocolate, fudge, roasted malt and sweet soy sauce. Molasses and sea salt in the middle with more sweet soy sauce, figs and prunes at the finish. Decadent, sticky aftertaste. Body is full with low carbonation. Foamy on the palate with some small bubbles going down. Sticky and sweet on the finish with a long, lingering aftertaste.
For a brewery that has been turning out a lot of impressive dark beers I'm sad to say that this anniversary stout doesn't really stand up to their regular offerings. Finback is much better than this beer represents.

Poured into a tulip glass via bottle
Color is jet black with a rustic brown foam head
Smell is heavy coconut and cinnamon with some fudgy chocolate at the end
Taste is more cinnamon than coconut, but both are well represented here..some boozy chocolate in the backend
Carbonation was high as my bottle gushed a bit when it was opened..lost about 1/4 of the bottle..which was the clear low point of drinking this
Mouthfeel was thick and sweet
With the exception of my bottle gushing, this was another exceptional stout from Finback, perhaps even in the discussion of one of its best
