Pours a bit darker than most BL Stasis beers. Coconut and almonds kills the head retention. Can’t even be generated with a vigorous swirl, but the alcohol legs stream down the glass like tears. Aroma hits you with a ton of vanilla. Reminds me of Fundamental Observation. Apparently there isn’t any vanilla added to this, but that can’t just be the oak.. the aroma is just too perfectly “vanilla”. Beer really needs to open up and warm. At around 50°, it tastes of bourbon if you let an ice cube melt too much; watered down, boozy flavors. Let it sit for a bit, and it starts to reveal the coconut. Smooth as silk.. it’s criminal to drink this beer directly from the fridge.

16oz. capped bottle into Night Shift stemware. Shared with schen9303.

Nose is toasted almond, cocoa powder, chocolate, vanilla and a sprinkle of coconut. Beer opens sweet soy sauce, marshmallow, vanilla and milk chocolate. Sweet cream, molasses, coconut and brownie in the middle with a pleasant, fluffy sweetness. Finish is more chocolate, fudge and vanilla. This one tastes like an Almond Joy bar liquified. Body is full with low carbonation. Slick, rich and dense on the palate and goes down soft and warm. Lingering, sticky finish.

Easily the best of the Omura series in my opinion. If you like coconut and almond in your stouts, this is not to be missed.
