From a crowler, filled two days ago.
Slightly hazy deep gold, with moderate, short-lived white head.
Smells of lactic sourness & fresh ocean breeze, i.e., the typical gose aroma, plus a little red grape and mixed citrus, with a touch of mild spiciness as it warmed (dog-instigated interruption. ;) ) .Somehow smells a bit better than the usual.
Taste is pear, honeydew melon, acerola/sumac[~same flavor ;)] slightly sour nectarine , with some passionfruit and mayapple* on the finish. Moderate bitterness and sourness. Very, very slight saltiness - barely perceptible - after finish.
* Had to roll through the mental flavor rolodex, a few times to ID that flavor, but it IS Mayapple (Podophyllum peltatum) , but sweeter, as if it had been candied. Don't know if anybody candies mayapple, but if they do, this would be the flavor. :)
Feel is initially smooth, and a little heavier......no....less-light..... than a typical gose - to be expected, given the higher-than-normal- abv , with moderate, very, very, very fine carbonation tingle.
Overall, though a not completely typical gose, it is nonetheless a thoroughly enjoyable, and delicious brew. I hope Finback (& Sam The Beer Man ) make this available again, when hotter weather arrives. (It's 52F, atm.) Another fantabulous beer from Finback, & shows they can do more than top-notch IPAs. Highly recommend, if you like sours! :)

Can from the brewery in Queens during 2020 COVID pause. Pours opaque tan orange with a flash of white head, smell is mild overripe guava, papaya, hints of passionfruit and brine, taste follows the nose with mild guava and passionfruit up front, distinct gose sour brine and hint of citrus candy, passionfruit lingers on the palate, this beer is light to medium bodied. Tropical fruit soda!

Poured from a can (no date, released 21May2020) into a tumbler
L: slightly opaque orange gold with a thick white head. Very effervescent, head fades after a couple minutes, minimal white lacing
S: passionfruit shines here, not much sour to it. Fine aroma, but not the tropical burst I was expecting
T: more than the nose, tropical flavor with a nice salty finish. I’d prefer more sour/salt but that’s me. A bit of that bready note as I drink it/the beer warms
F: light body, approachable, wish it was more drying/quenching
O: solid sour, tropical flavor comes through well but could use more salty sour and would appreciate a drier finish/feel
