Collaboration with Graft Cidery, Newburgh, NY.
Mixed culture sour ale with clementine peel, gentian root, dried blood orange, rhubarb and riesling grape must. This beer is inspired by the bold flavored Italian aperitifs with deep herbal notes, tart and aged on New York Riesling must.

16oz. capped bottle into a Brooklyn Brewery snifter.
No head, no lace. Nose is white wine grapes, a tickly Brett funk, light vinegar, a touch of soap, and an aggressive tartness. Super aromatic. Beer opens tart vinous white grape. Light grape skin bitterness mixed with vinegar and lemon tartness in the middle. Funk overtones remind me of metal, peat, and a wet astringency. More grape skin and waxy bitterness towards the end. Body is light with ample carbonation. Prickly and lively on the palate and goes down foamy, messy. Bitter, slightly lingering aftertaste.
I'm just not a big fan of the flavor combinations presented here. The look and feel of this one don't do it any favors either.
