Double dry-hopped Double IPA brewed with Enigma, Citra, Blanc and Mosaic. Taste notes of overripe peaches, mango, cantaloupe, hints of earthiness and dankness.

Finback hoppy always best at source, and it is. Smooth IPA, as it should be. Good drinker, though not quite tempted to get this instead a better travelling DIPA. neutral aroma and looks.

Big, huge NEIPA, with citrus and stone fruit. Velvety mouthfeel. Dank-ish aroma. Very nice.

One of the better Finback beers I’ve tasted in a while. The Enigma(Australia) and Hallertau Blanc (Germany) are a different flavor profile than the usual Finback DDH IPA. Winey, tropical fruit, pine, with a more resinous MF than their other beers. Not too hoppy. Excellent!

As always, I am happy to be an inaugural reviewer for a new hoppy Finback beer. Frothy is a DDH DIPA clocking in at 8.5% and featuring a bevy of fun hops.

The pour here is a bit more of a looker than some recent Finback IPAs, I must say, though the name kinda tipped me off to this fact. It is a hazy, nearly-opaque orange color, as most of them are, but it's topped off with a beautiful, tightly-packed head that measures about three fingers at its highest point upon initial pour. As it slowly sinks to a fairly-consistent two-finger ring (with some areas only measuring a single finger, mind you), it leaves behind spectacular, coating lace and legs with some good surface coverage to boot.

The nose is powerfully-dank and bright with ripe mango, hints of nectarine and peaches (plus other stone fruit) mixed with some light red berry complexity and a bit of tropical citrus. Mosaic is hitting pretty hard here, but the Blanc helps keep it centered in a unique and intriguing place. I do pick up some grassiness and hints of white wine grape, almost like a Nelson Sauvin-type backing element that is pretty unique and interesting.

On the tongue, Frothy is surprisingly thick and chewy, but still lean enough in the mid-palate to be drinkable and enjoyable. Flavors of mango, papaya, and passion fruit cross with some prominent pomelo and strikingly-acidic white grape to build up a complex and tasty DIPA. There is a bit of funky dankness/earthy/onion/chive in this one that really screams Mosaic, but I think the use of Enigma is probably also worth noting when it comes to this type of thing, as it's another varietal that goes out of its way to do unusual stuff under certain conditions. Big DDH IPAs with hops like Mosaic and Enigma are typically kind of confusing to me, but I'm grateful that this at least somewhat keeps things in a logical framework, at least at first. Hints of ethanol and raspberry/redcurrant start to come out as this warms a bit, and the body starts feeling bigger and denser. Best consumed right out of the fridge, for sure, as I enjoy it a bit less when it starts to develop into an "off-the-wall" direction.
