Tall can direct from the FB outpost in Park Slope, Brooklyn. No canning date info that I see.
Nice looking hazed/juiced pour, leaving a moderate sized and lasting cap, nice looking strands of fine bubble lacing.
Pineapple and light melon on the sniff.
Tasty, tropical fruit infused NEIPA, with more pineapple, lime, mango, and ginger notes...tasty...more quality and enjoyable brew from FB

I haven't been posting many reviews of late, and yet I'm still the very first to put up a review for this new DIPA from Finback in collaboration with the Origin Beer Project. Haven't read up about them too much, but I guess they're based in Rhode Island. Anyway, C2C is a DIPA hopped with Mosaic, Sabro, and Lotus hops, and it also features yuzu as well cuz why not? I don't know when this was canned because it is strangely lacking a can date, but I will give it some benefit of the doubt and assume it's within the last three-ish weeks.
Pour here is nice for the most part. It's nothing unusual, and I know I say that a lot but it's true! How do I elucidate on the absolutely bog-standard NEIPA pour that many Finbacks have these days? It's opaque, it's orange, it's topped with a shimmering dollop of suds that quickly settles to a half-finger... there isn't too much to say. The foam leaves behind some really nice, shiny lace. But that's about it. It's good looking if that's what you're into.
Tough to rate the nose here because I feel the Sabro influence hurts this one to an extent. That said, Lotus is also too "orange creamsicle"-ish for me in the few beers I've had it in, and that element comes to the fore here as well. It just smells too dairy-ish and creamy; I much prefer more dank, in-your-face, aggressive hop elements, so this doesn't appeal to me as it probably should. Mosaic is doing an alright job giving off some grapefruit and solid grassiness if I really get my nose in here but... alas, I fear that this is not the IPA for me.
Flavor profile is dusty and drab with a strong leaning towards the dreaded (slightly-kidding here, don't hurt me) milkshake IPA side of things; hefty vanilla and orange upfront with a tart yuzu in the mid-to-finish that closes a bit anonymously bitter and seems overall poorly-rendered. Not a fan of this really, but if you like creamsicle IPAs more than I do, you should check it out. The yuzu doesn't punch through as I expected it to, and the hop profile is not my thing at all. Pass.
