Wow. I am really impressed with this beer. Finback has come a long way developing this annual offering.
Pours extremely dark and thick, perfect foamy mocha head that lasts; great lacing. Big bourbon aroma mixes with loads of fudge chocolate and and dark coffee. Flavor starts with dark fudge, milk chocolate, dark coffee, bourbon barrel, then caramel, brown sugar, toffee, molasses. Incredibly thick, light micro carbonation adds to a creamy texture. I have a hard time swallowing because it tastes so good swishing around in my mouth. Perfection. Overall this is an amazing barrel aged imperial stout. Thick, rich, creamy, adjuncts are perfectly balanced. Exceptional.
