Pale gold with a thin bubbly head that leaves light lacing. Slightly winey smell with citrus. Taste is slightly bitter with a light wheat flavor and a touch of sourness. There is little hop flavor apart from the bitterness, but the hops feel more present than in many English bitters. Feel is medium-light with light carbonation. The finish is dry with lingering light bitterness. Very drinkable, but it feels more like a light saison than a bitter.

PIcked up at Hampton Court, Kings Table is gold with a small white collar leaving very light lace.

Smell is sweet, oranges, some leafy hops.

Taste is similarly sweet citrus, with a modest bitterness.

Mouthfeel is dry, medium light bodied.

Drinkability is pretty good, a decent bitter, nothing special, but I'm happy to try it and get a chance to support the historical palace.

My cousin smuggled this home for me when she visited London.

Serving: 500ml bottle.

A: Clear golden with a light lacy head and little carbonation

S: Light hops

T: Some malt with a bitter slightly sweet hop at the finish. Seems like a cross between a pale ale and a lager.

M: The beer lacks a lot of carbonation and the bitter finish makes it appear heavier than it is. Medium-bodies would be the best guess.

D: 4.2 alc is a low amount, and the body is light enough though the finish has a bit of sticky bitterness to it.

Overall: Not bad, not great, but interesting present from London.

I had this beer during a family trip to London, as an accompanyment to lunch at the Tower of London. The beer was bottled, and poured a transparent, light copperish color with a puffy white head. It's a moderately malty beer, with a very slight English hop smell (I'd almost say faint). There's a touch of fruit in the smell (apricot and apple?), and a little white bread as well. The flavor is good, but a little restrained. Modest sweetness, and a clean finish. This isn't an exciting beer at all, but it is drinkable and was very welcome during the trip to the historic landmark.

Poured this 500 mL brown bottle into a thin pint glass. Dated best by Dec. 25 2007. A vigorous pour created about one finger of crisp white head. The body was a clear, light golden honey color. Any yeast stayed at the bottom of the glass.

Smell was minimal, however, I drank it outdoors which probably made the aromas harder to detect. Sweet and lightly malty.

Taste was also lightly malty with a caramel sweetness. Smooth, mildly bittering finish.

Mouthfeel was very smooth and lightly carbonated. Medium in body.

The Ballard's Brewery website states that this beer is only available at The Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, and Kensington Palace. I drank this one with tea at Kensington Palace.
