L- Pours black (by lamplight) with a 2Cm thick dark tan fine bubble head. Later forms lacing down sides of glass, good going for it's ABV.
S- Quite roasty, perhaps a light touch of cocoa and ? light liquor note, or that's just it's 10% ABV. Nice anyway!
T- Roasty again, Now I'm sure I get coffee, quite deeply roasty-toasty. Charry. Some deep cocoa in the tail.
F- Very well hidden ABV%, quite remarkable considering it's 10%. Big and rounded; ideal for slow-sipping in winter. Would also be an ideal can to share with another. As it begins to warm a touch I'm just beginning to get some sense of it's ABV% crossing my radar...
O- Nice surprise, not over-rich/sweet as can happen with these modern iterations of such styles. Very polished. 'Hidden power' which = good brewing. I'd happily drink it again esp if it weren't quite so £££. p.s. It's £6 if bought directly from the brewery.
Bought from Bacchanalia, Cambridge. 440ml can BB: 09/08/2023 £7.85 -- #2070
