12oz can served in a nonic glass. No can dating.
Look- Cloudy coffee black color, small khaki head which recedes fairly quickly to a thin cap of foam, little lacing. No carbonation streams visible.
Smell- Huge hits of wine cask, coffee, caramel/toffee type malts, dark fruits (raisins and dates), toasted dark bread, some booze, cherry and a mineral type aromas.
Taste- Rich caramel malt, toasted dark bread, coffee and chocolate, dried dark fruits and cherry with some of that wine cask, burnt sugar.
Feel- Medium bodied with an assertive dry texture and a little acidic in the finish (which I'm assuming is the wine again). Light carbonation on the tongue. A slight stickiness to it.
O- I've never had a wine barrel aged stout. Pretty interesting, the barrel really makes it presence known.

Looking at Untappd filled in the ABV Blank!
Pours an effervescent & murky mahogany with a pinky of caramel head. Zero head retention & lacing
S: Plenty of red wine barrel, raisins & dark cherry, some iron as well
T: Follows the nose, dryness, roastyness & a little cocoa up front, plus leafy hops. Some coffee notes surface as this warms, faint cherry & red wine notes as well, some booze presence as well. Finishes dry & roasty with a little coffee, dark cherry & leafy hops
MF: Medium body, subdued carbonation
A solid shot at the style & certainly better than most of their offerings
