Appearance: Pours a lightly hazed, orange-gold body with an inch of near white froth.
Smell: Some toasted bread, a bit of gourd underneath a robust clove aroma, which only grows more acridly fragrant as it warms.
Taste: Gah! Macon's heavy-handed, devil-may-care addition of ground clove is strong enough to easily and thoroughly overtake the underlying beer from beginning to biting, harsh end.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-soft carbonation.
Overall: A clear case of over-spicing. I'd additionally gripe about the price, but I suppose someone had to shoulder the cost of an inordinate amount of clove.
