Had on tap at the L'Académie de la bière in Chartres, France.
L: Pours a semi-opaque copper color with 2 fingers of thick white head.
S: Resinous hops, with evergreen and floral notes.
T/F: Taste is decent, especially for a European attempt at the style. Nice malt backbone and some aggressive hops. There's a bit of an off-flavor at the finish that I can't put my finger on (metallic?), else the rating would be even higher. Good carbonation.
O: One of the best European Imperial IPA's I've run across (although the list is small), and finding this was a very pleasant little surprise to cap off a day in Chartres. Nothing to compare to the big boys on the West Coast in the States, but these guys are definitely at the head of the craft curve in France. Definitely worth checking out.
