Poured from a 22 ounce bottle into a Teku glass.
4.25/4/3.75/4/3.5
A finger of lovely mocha head fades quickly. The beer is blackberry-black and completely opaque.
Smells predominantly roasty, with a hint of fruit. Like an Irish Dry Stout with jam.
Hrm. Tart and lactic up front, with heavy roast on the maintaste, and an aftertaste of dark, bright fruits. This was allegedly aged on cherries, which could explain some of the fruitiness.
Kinda creamy around the thin, hard, tart edges.
A sort of sour stout; interesting, but inessential.
Notes
"Affirmation Noir: This dark sour ale has notes of cacao and tart cherries. This decadent brew is romantic and comforting like a sexy box of dark chocolate covered cherries from someone you love."
