Double dry-hopped hazy double IPA. For this New England style IPA, we built a grain bill with clean Pilsner malt, as many fluffy flaked oats as possible and just a touch of lactose to produce the ideal mouthfeel for this style.
In order to set this haze far apart from any of our other Light Visions to date... In combination with our fruit-forward yeast strain, we chose 100% New Zealand hops to make up the hop bill for this beer. Generous double dry-hopping additions of 2018 Wakatu, Pacifica and Nelson Sauvin intermingle to create a truly unique hop character.

Canned on 04/25/19, Purchased at Cravings Specialty Grocery, Tuscaloosa, AL.
The pour on this comes out a deep, orange-hued gold, with some soft white head that rises up as the beer flows into the glass. It settles into a creamy white ring around the inside of the glass.
On the nose I get a lot of passionfruit and lime zest right away. Hints of mango purée and melon work their way through as the beer continues to open up, with more floral aromas present to help cut through the sweetness of the abundant fruit. As the beer warms just slightly, white grapes greet the nose as well, and that melon really strengthens.
The hops showcased here are really shining. More of that passionfruit and mango, but with a distinctly more potent hop presence as well. Subtle notes of hay resonate and compliment the underlying floral quality, with the hops finishing mildly spicy and with a bit of a numbing warmth as it goes down. Much like on the nose, white grapes really start to come out after a moment, as well as stone fruit, namely plum or peach flesh.
Nice medium-bodied beer, with a medium carbonation that has a subtle sharpness but is predominantly soft. Theres some good viscosity to it as well, and it leaves a good residual mouth-coating in the finish. As mentioned previously, there's also that numbing warmth that leaves its mark.
