Can't read the exact canned on date, but released to the public on 02/28/2020.
Pours a fairly deep gold; hazy, but not completely opaque. Pretty good coloration, with a heavy froth of head that settles comfortably on top. Small spots of residual lace cling to the inside of the glass.
The El Dorado really shines on the nose. Huge notes of pineapple juice with peach, subtle pear and underripe mango. Candy-sweet, with almost some bubblegum vibes as it continues to open up.
The palate is much different than I expected, and I can't tell if it's just because I don't love El Dorado on its own, or if it was in the execution. It is VERY Belgian-influenced. A return of that bubblegum sweetness really brings out a distinct grain bill and malt sweetness. The hops are lightly spiced on the palate, with undertones of cantaloupe, stone fruit and pineapple. Overall, I would have liked to try this fresh to compare, however I can respect the unique nature of the profile.
Mouthfeel is nice; medium-bodied and relatively soft with a good carbonation. Finishes with a touch of booze and mild residual bitterness.
