Ordered from Tavour in 16 ounce cans, chilled, and poured into a hurricane glass.
Look: Light orange with a nice finger-think off white creamy head that dissipated and left a ring of foam and lingering carbonation on the surface as we drank.
Smell: Light citrus, a little lemon and orange in the background. Malt is the dominant note. No hop and no booze on the nose.
Taste: A little sour up front, lemon follows with some tangerine, then a little orange, then salt and malt that lingers. The salt is big in the middle and takes over the up front sour. The malt and salt are an interesting combination. No bitter, no booze and no hop notes.
Feel: Light feel, medium carbonation that lingered as it warmed. The salt and malt add mouthfeel that hung, making it a crips finish.
Overall this is a crisp “beach club” oceans and orchards addition. As we said, the salt and malt are interesting in the end notes. For a >8% ABV the booze is completely hidden. Not sure we would hunt these down to drink in plenty, but still good enough to have one more.
Cheers!
