Dark copper orange in color with an opaque unfiltered appearance. Poured with a thick, sticky, creamy white foam with excellent retention. Pulpy citrus and sweet over ripe pineapple aromas with a malty backbone. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation and smooth, creamy, slick feel. Mellow, dank citrus hop flavors, blood orange and mango. Medium light malty flavor throughout. Medium light hop bitterness. Finished with prickly boozy warmth and fruity, citrus notes. Mellow dankness and light booziness balance the fruity and malty characters. Flavorful, smooth and easy drinking for a DIPA.

Canned 3/8/18, about 3 weeks ago

Look- cloudy/milky pale golden; 1 finger frothy head; ample lacing

Smell- dank weed, mango, peach

Tastes- follows the nose, but adds quite a bit of the beers namesake into the mix with lots of orange and a little grapefruit pith bitterness

Feel- medium body and carb

Overall- really nice juicy double IPA that's really hitting it's stride after 3 weeks in my opinion.

Draft pour in a snifter/goblet. Extremely citrusy & tropical. Great "dessert beer", if that's a thing. Super hazy bright amber, completely opaque. The nose was bright and citrusy, but only hinted at the depth of hop flavors in this outstanding beer.

This is one of the more drinkable double IPA's I've had in some time. I'm enjoying this 16 ounce can. Pale, light, full of citrus notes though perhaps lacking some funk in the flavor for something with Funk in the name. There is a good bit of funk in the scent, though. There's lingering tropical fruit flavors on the palate- mango, papaya, a touch of guava. Apparently, only available in the spring, this is something I could look forward to.

Pours a light copper color with slightly more than a finger of head. The nose is both citrusy and hoppy. The body is very hearty for the style. The citrus also comes out big in the flavor. The alcohol pokes through as well which is surprising for an 8%.

pours gold with a thick head.

smell is fantastic, tons of fruity hops. can definitely smell the mango in this.

this is a great tasting beer. has lots of fruit to it. very juicy yet not overly sweet, great balance. if anything maybe it's a bit thin, but still a great taste. goes down smooth, easy to drink. a true warm weather dIPA.

overall this is pretty damn good. aroma and taste is great, easy to drink and not overly sweet. definitely something i would have again.

This is a delicious beer. I was expecting it to be overly fruit flavored but it's not. It's nicely balanced though very hoppy. The smell is bursting with pine, citrus, sweet honey, and tropical fruits. The taste is all of that over a nice malt base. Smooth and wonderful. yb

Canned 3/23/16. Poured into snifter, glad I did-it's a dirty dark grapefruit juice looking concoction. Healthy lacing and foam. Strong citrus and hop smell that blends well. Hop presence is forefront and malty richness with a creamy feel in the middle-this is also where the honey presence is evident. There's a mildly citrusy zingy bitterness on the back end. A very tasty step up from the also outstanding Funk Citrus.

This beer was fantastic, little orange and smooth honey flavor, different than regular Citrus. Love both, but this double is nice and cloudy and crushable! Next time they release, I'm grabbing a case!

16oz Can

Canned: 3/23/16

Big thanks, Mark! Double Citrus sports a sunset orange body, though the sun is still fairly high in the sky. A touch of haze runs throughout, just enough to make the body glow. I tightly bubbled, pure white head forms on the pour and rises to just over a finger in height. It fades rather quickly to a skim coat with a hefty ring. The ring leaves sheet lacing down the glass. It' a good looking beer.

Big earthy dank and tropical notes hit right off the bat. It's citric as well. The tropical consist of mango, pineapple, juicy papaya and passionfruit. even a little overripe lactic pineapple. The citrus is all sorts of grapefruit and orange from peel to pith. The earthy dankness consists of tobacco leaves and leather. This is a highly hopped beer with a lot going on. Things get in the way of each other at times. With that said, it still smells delicious.

The flavor profile steps it up from the nose. Nothing gets in the way of anything. It's citric and dank upfront bringing with it intense versions of what I mentioned in the aroma. The backend is full on tropical assault. Pineapple pops its head up first before papaya, passionfruit, and dense mango wrap it up. It very Juicy Fruit-y. A little simple syrup and sugar cookies make up the malt base. Excellent!

The body sits around moderate, weight wise, with a surprisingly easy feel for a beer weighing in at 8%. It feels like it's going to have some stickiness upfront but the bubbles pick up and push through. Bitterness grabs hold on the swallow but never surpasses moderate in nature and the drying finish accentuates that bitterness. This beer is dangerously drinkable.

This is a damn good IIPA. The abv falls in the approachable, easy drinking range while the tropical hoppiness and mango juice pop. There is a lot going on and while those things trip over each other at times in the nose they work themselves out in the flavor. I would certainly buy this beer if I ran across some. Thanks again, Mark!

Poured into a 13 oz Weyerbacher tulip glass canned on 3/23/16. Pours a dark cloudy orange with a 2 plus finger sticky slightly off white head, that leaves a massive amount of lace behind.

Smell pinapple, tangerine, mango, apricot, hard candy, and grapefruit.

Taste follows huge tropical fruit dances on the tongue, mango, papaya, passion fruit, guava, pinapple, tangerine, and then it gives little shot of grapefruit in juicy lush finish.

Mouthfeel is larger than medium, moderate carbonation which is fine, not dry at all, and drinkability is spectacular.

Overall this is a treat, it drinks like many of the Vermont beers. Many thanks @jzeilinger for this fresh tasty little number.

Outstanding seasonal offering, first time being canned on 3/23/16. Pours a rich copper with about two fingers of thick lacing. Intense aroma of melon, mango, tangerine, which paves way to a balanced malt bill. It fades to a nice hoppy finish which the can describes as "American hops" but I get a strong taste of mosaic among others. Overall a very solid offering worth seeking out.

Updated review as of 3/7/20.

A - Hazy dark orange pour with a massively thick, creamy white lacing ring.

S - Pungent mango juice aroma.

T - All citrus from start to finish - mango is strong and aggressive throughout with some spiciness and citrus tang on the back end. Finishes on the sweeter side.

M - Thick body with creamy carbonation.

O - Very good but a little too much like drinking fruit juice. Is that a problem? Not at all, just maybe not everyone's gig, still very solid and best yet ... LOCAL. I'll support these guys any time but start using hops to get your flavor as opposed to fruit juice. If I want Tropicana I'll go to the local grocery store. I remember this beer being better last year. (I originally scored this a 4.1.) The $20 price tag is ambitious too.

Pours an apricot color into a glass with a thick white head. The nose is immediately citrus with other fruit and very little malt. As the title suggests the body is very full with citrus a little melon and gentle warming from the 8%abv. Clean finish with just a dash of hops. Overall a VERY pleasant beer that went great with raspberry a vinaigrette salad. Will try again!

Clear, pale yellow; came without without much of a head.

Hop forward aroma consisting of melon and lemons primarily. Not much in the way of malt balance, just a hint of caramel. Some warming alcohol as well.

Taste mirrors the smell. Not dank or bitter, but this had plenty of delicate hop flavor. Fresh tasting melon, juicy lemon, and maybe a little stone fruit. Noticeable alcohol and scant sweet balance. Very enjoyable beer from a brewery I had never heard of.

Very clear orange color with minimal fizz. Aroma is mild, hoppy, a little tangy. Taste has waves of fresh-squeezed orange juice, very impressive. Drinks very smooth also, with a bitter finish, an acid bite that fits the juiciness, and no noticeable alcohol.
