The Big brother of our Citrus IPA, Double Citrus is an Imperial India Pale Ale created with an absurd amount of American hops making it super aromatic and juicy, with tons of citrus, pine, and tropical flavor. The complex malt character unites with the hops to bring out notes of honey and biscuit, too In 4 words or less: The juice is loose.

The Funk regular Citrus is fabalous, but this double versionwas way to much for me. Gone was the enjoyable NEIPA citrus taste, ovepowered with booziness and dankness.

Poured from a 16-oz can into pint glass in April 2022. There was a brewed date on the label of 2/21/2022. I bought this at the brewpub and drank this less about 1 month after purchase.

Appearance: Medium gold color with huge white head. It is a bright and has a very hazy complexion, like many IPAs. Head is very thick, and it lasts a minute time, leaving a small covering. There is a medium amount of lacing on the glass.

Smell: The citrus aroma filled the room while the beer was being poured. Strong aroma of citrus, pine, and hops, as well as some sweetness like pineapple. Also, a little earthy or straw aroma. As expected from the name, the citrus aroma dominates the other aromas.

Taste: Sweet taste with a strong bitter hops edge. There is also a nice malt sweetness as well. There is a typical hops and citrus flavor, but with some sweetness as well. This is bitter like other IPAs, but it is very well-balanced. Has a very nice after-taste that lasts a long time. Overall a nice balance and very drinkable.

Mouthfeel: Strong bodied, which makes this very drinkable. Medium alcohol, which matches the 8% listed.

This is a very good and interesting IPA. It has a nice mix of citrus, grapefruit, hops, malt, and other flavors, which makes it enjoyable. I like the overall balance, and that the citrus flavors are pronounced but do not dominate the flavor. It has more of a hop edge than many other IPAs. This would be a good IPA to drink often.

16oz can into a pint glass. NO freshness dating, despite the label stating "drink fresh - do not age" three times.

Looks okay in the glass. Hazy dark orange/pear juice body. Small white head shrinks to a ring and covering, very attractive lacing.

Dank and vegetable aromas. No my favorite words in an ipa.

On tasting, pretty dank and a little veggie. There is an underlying sweetness which helps the taste. Towards the end, a slightly sour bitter note.

Mouth above medium, finish a little warm and bitter.

Overall, not my flavor profile here. Double Citrus? More like double dank. I've a hunch this may be aged related, since there is no date on the can, but previous reviews list one. (Was bought at a trusted place.) Will re-review if that turns out to be the case. As it stands, not for me.

Dark copper orange in color with an opaque unfiltered appearance. Poured with a thick, sticky, creamy white foam with excellent retention. Pulpy citrus and sweet over ripe pineapple aromas with a malty backbone. Medium bodied with medium light carbonation and smooth, creamy, slick feel. Mellow, dank citrus hop flavors, blood orange and mango. Medium light malty flavor throughout. Medium light hop bitterness. Finished with prickly boozy warmth and fruity, citrus notes. Mellow dankness and light booziness balance the fruity and malty characters. Flavorful, smooth and easy drinking for a DIPA.
