Probably our favorite beer to brew and to drink! A dense, dark and smoky black hole of a beer fermented long and cool on maple sugar wood spirals. Layers of cocoa and coffee fall away into caramel and molasses. The finish is surprisingly grippy in tannin and leather like a BIG California Cabernet.

Pours a very deep dark brown color with a healthy head that is higher than a finger. There are mild cocoa and coffee notes in the nose. The flavor note that stands out the most is a subtle sweetness. There is certainly roasted malt but the flavor is not full and hearty by any means. This offering is "too drinkable" in the sense that I would not peg this as an 8% Baltic if it were part of a blind taste test.

On tap at the brewery.
A - Very dark brown colored pour with caramel colored, creamy, frothy lacing.
S - Chocolate and maple.
T - Milk, oak, chocolate, some maple, light coffee bean, and red wine character on the back end.
M - Big and full bodied, viscous, slick, a little sugary, and sticky on the lips.
O - This was an enjoyable Baltic Porter.
