This is our first brew with the Kveik yeast strain. Kveik (pronounced “kwike”) means “yeast” in a particular Norwegian dialect. The tropical notes from this yeast play particularly well with our fruit forward dry hopping schedule. This is straight pineapple juice. Don't worry you will still get the hop haze that will get you many likes on the 'gram.

Funk makes some great beers but this one did not work for me. It's a hazy but with a Nordic twist that left a lot to be desired in terms of deep flavor and juiciness. This blend was actually very thin on flavor and a bit acidic. Glad I tried it, especially via a single can buy, but will focus on Funks better offers going fwd.

Can dated 9/9/20 into pint glass. Pours a nice gold color (SRM 3-4) with a nice off-white head. Great lacing. Initial impression is huge pineapple and grapefruit, with a caramel malt somewhere in the background. Has a spicy bite to it. Mouthfeel is medium - nice and clean. Finish is dry and almost astringent. Overall, a very enjoyable IPA!

A - Opaque medium orange gold color with thick creamy lacing.
S - Citrus, melon, peppery melon rind, and an overall vinous nose.
T - Very unique and rather difficult to describe (IMO). Nice peppery presence with pineapple, peach, and with balanced citrus bitterness on the backside.
M - Thick and soft on the palate with a very dry finish.
O - This beer is definitely unique. Enjoyable and recommended.

Standard pour, The hops were up front, tropical and fruity. Taste was balanced, and a little bit muddled at the same time. I was getting light pineapple, and citrus background. Borderline sweet. Medium MF, low carbonation.
A good tasting IPA, however, the funk was almost non-present. Can't have a FUNK beer without the funk!
