With ten hop additions of three hop varietals, Mosaic, Citra, and Amarillo, this beer scores on your palate, rebounds in your nose and is assisted by the juicy flavors to balance the slight upfront bitterness to make this a Rip City slam dunk.

This beer pours a golden color with almost no head. The aroma is citrus, the taste is mild citrus and a nice hop presence. Considering the 100.7 IBUs this beer is quite tasty. Have had in fridge about 9 months. Haven't had a strong IBU, IPA in a while.

I bought this at their brewpub in Portland and took it back to my Airbnb. I drank it the next day while gawking at Mount Hood, Mount Adams, Mount St. Helens, and Mount Rainier … all visible at once from our porch. Great, tangy beer enhanced by the view. A great memory.
We came back to StormBreaker on our last day in Portland. I ordered a snifter of Triple Double and a couple cans to go. Great stuff.

On tap at the new St. Johns spot.
A great crystal clear, well hopped, well bittered DIPA. A little sugary sweetness, but great aromas and flavors from the Mosaic/Citra/Amarillo combo. Tropical and citrus fruits along with weed and pine, in a easy to drink, scary that it's 8.5% abv, clean and bitter bomb. Cheers.

Light copper color with not much of a head. Subdued resinous scent leads into a pretty mellow hop profile for a double IPA. Very smooth feel again for a double. Not bitter and very well balanced overall.

Look: 22 oz Bomber poured into a tulip Glass - thick yellow solid colouring, with loads of sediment.
Smell: Lots of tropical citrus, most prominent is the Passionfruit, with perhaps some pomelo as well
Taste: Way more fruity than I expected. Sweetness upfront with the bitter bite crunching down afterwards.
Mouthfeel: Surprisingly light and well balanced, almost cleanly bitter as if it was a Belgium IPA - not the metallic American Style that I was expecting. Quite drinkable.
Overall: This is a very satisfying beer. Apparently there were three types of hops used in this beer 'triple': Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo. Was not overwhelmed by hoppy overload. Refreshing, but not a walk in the park either.

Poured from a bomber into a pint glass. Appearance is a slightly hazy light amber; the thin head that diminishes quickly but leaves a light lace. The smell brings hops: citrus and pine right up front. The taste begins with a pleasant bitterness, citrus and the hint of biscuit at the finish. The mouthfeel is full and almost creamy. This is a very enjoyable DIPA, and one which I would definitely purchase again.

PIcked up a couple bombers at John's Market in Multnomah Village.
Hearing good things about Stormbreaker, never had anything from them yet.
No date info on bottle. In my experience, bottle shops can be notorious for 'freshness' issues....buyer beware
**** Drank the first bottle, which had serious freshness issues ---- severe protein floaties, though it was still drinkable. It was not suitable nor fair for reviewing this beer.
So, being temporarily local, I went to the Stormbreaker brewery on Mississippi and the server there exchanged mine for a fresh one without any questions or fuss. Brilliant customer service! And on my birthday......a card I didn't pull, but added to the memory. I did end up buying an appreciation pint, and I will return to watch another Timbers game....there are probably no 'bad' pubs to watch a game, but this one is chill.
So...my review of this clearly fresher version follows. Note that there were still a few random floaties, but probably only 5% of the amount before) :
Pours cloudy gold. Bit of off-white creamy head that dissipates slowly.
Tastes great. Citrusy, more mango than grapefruit. Mosaic, Citra and Amarillo have some good 'team chemistry' here, coattailing on the sports shtick.
I get the 90 IBUs!! Tangy, fruity, a bit bready. Not much resiny pine to speak of, nor much bitterness.
Leaves behind some thick, sticky tongue. ABV is well-disguised (until later in the game).
I really like this. The b'ball crossover shtick is unnecessary --- this beer recipe can stand on its own merits. A solid, tasty, interesting DIPA.
Cheers to Stormbreaker, from a happy new fan.
[BTW..on this site, warm cat piss would get a score of 80..... so are y'all serious?! 87?!? Are you all high?

a nice bright juicy ipa that drinks about a million times lighter than it actually is. not a ton of bitterness here, which i guess isnt all that common in a west coast double ipa, but there also isnt too much of that oily resinous thing that makes it big and sometimes sweet and sticky. its sort of easier and lighter than all that, impossible to tell its as strong as it is. slight haze to a pale orange body, short but lacy white head. it smells and tastes like citra to me, although there are undoubtedly others in here, likely mosaic as well, and something to provide a little pine. even the body isnt real weighty, a paler malt base, very fresh and efficiently mashed, maybe a sprinkle of a lighter crystal malt as well, but thats about it for the cereals. i like the juicy hops here, really radiant and tangerine flavored. its well carbonated too, which i always think helps the bigger ipas. they had a lot of big ipa on tap here at the brewery, must be a specialty. this was the best of the beers we tried here in my opinion, although we didnt get through nearly all of them.

No bottle date on a 22. Not happy with that. Looks really nice. Nice amber color that you can't see through. Love that in an ipa. Smells fruity, orange zest. Taste is that of the smell. Citrusy, orange. Really like the taste on this one. Mouth feel is nice and thick. Solid brew. Would get again
