A lager with some bite. hop bite, that is. Nelson Sauvin, Southern Cross, and Wai-iti hops shine through in this tropical, ctirus, and stone fruit expression. Premium German malts provide a smooth easy-going drinkability.

2022 version
A clear yellow with a dense white head. The nose has a nice fresh hop character up front, spicy, minty with nice fresh hop oils. The base pilsnis dry and snappy, clean and crisp. The palate opens with a palate coating fresh hop oil character, with lovely depth of flavor. Fruitier and more grape like than a typical old world pils, the NZ hop character is clear. Drying, clean, fruity and mildly bitter on the finish. Very good.

Look: Clear yellow with a fizzy head that swells a little and quickly dissipates to a film, leaving minimal lacing behind
Aroma: Lemons – flesh and rind, loads of freshly cut grass, lemongrass, white table grapes, herbal notes, and pilsner malt
Taste: Lemons and cut grass launch this flavor train off with a bang as herbal and vegetal notes follows closely behind. White grapes and grape leaves show up in the middle along with pilsner malt and closes with more lemony goodness
Mouthfeel: Light but not watery, very clean throughout, medium carbonation, and a crisp and clean finish with zero dryness
Overall: This is good stuff. An interesting and well-made Pilsner with some unique fresh hop characteristics abound and likewise for the hop flavors/aromas overall – fresh hop or not. I always like trying non-IPA/pale fresh hop beers and this is a good one and unique as well

Hazy straw hues, mild persistent lacing. Citrusy and bready scents with a bit over a mildly pungent, dank, piney undercurrent. Taste presents with a tangy lemony forefront and then some bready/banana notes in the background. Medium bodied for the style. Slight mouth watering finish. Bit of booziness. Crisp, clean. I like the idea of a fresh hop Pilsner.

16oz can into a pint glass. No freshness dating but a recent release.
Pale straw yellow body, a little hazy. Small white head quickly disappears, no lacing.
On the nose, hops edge ahead of the malt.
Taste pretty much follows the nose, seems nicely balanced.
Mouth just about medium, finish faintly bitter.
Overall, okay, but not really grabbing me. IPL maybe?

Slightly hazy and light golden with a big bubble white head. Interesting fruity hop filled nose with something funky on the end. Oh, good flavor with a sweet citrus burst with minimal bitterness and crisp with not much follow through. Thinner feel with good carbonation here. Decent. For a Pilsner, this seems like an IPL. Now I understand the “noble” hops in the nose.

16oz can from Tavour. Hazy golden with a fine, creamy head. Light citrusy aroma, lemons. Taste is grainy, sweet, citrus. Velvety feel, light zest. Super tasty.
