*2025 Edition - labeled as Citra & Mosaic and with Strata as the fresh hop
Look: Turbid and medium orange with some brightness and my pour initiates a lovely head to form, settle, and hold as a lid, leaving awesome lacing behind
Aroma: Freshly cut navel orange, tangerine, fruity Cannabis, grapefruit, orange zest, strawberries, light diesel, and bready malt
Taste: Kicks off like the nose began, only much more intense as ripe and juicy oranges and tangerines come on quick, hard, and fast. Some grapefruit jumps in to join soon after and mild weed-like terpenes swirl in and out of frame, leaning towards citrus and diesel. The citrus continues its journey to the close, where strawberries peek in quickly as well
Mouthfeel: Full, slick, clean, medium-high carbonation, and soft and smooth on the close with a touch of dryness
Overall: This is some awesome stuff. I figured and hoped this would be good but even surprised myself with how much I liked it as typically I find fresh hopped hazies to be underwhelming. There is plenty of nice, oily, fresh hop Strata character in it and the hop burps are incredible too – like burping up freshly cut oranges/grapefruit and exhaling a hit off a joint. My second of many fresh hop beers this season, my first time seeing this one near me, and a great way to kick off the FH journey. Recommended
