Had a half pint at Wetherspoons in Paisley. Seemed somewhere between a blonde and an American amber to me. Light gold coloured beer with a doughy, citric (mainly lemon) nose. This has a caramel flavour and the expected lemon but also rather leafy hops. It is on the dry side with a slightly oily finish. Lemon is the boldest flavour here, in contrast to the orange/tangerine/grapefruit of many ambers.

On cask at the Orkney brewery.
A - a honey amber gold, good sticky lacing on this.
S - strong hop character, herbal and fruity notes, very full.
T - citrus bitterness, subtle caramel, balance is crisp, refreshing.
M - moderate light body, light carbonation, with a slick resiny finish
o - a nice flowing bitterness throughout, the american hops add an interesting dimension to this, a very tasty ale that drinks well. Worth trying.
