Nice golden tan color with a touch of smoke on the nose and a pleasant campfire hint as sipped. It finishes with a tropical fruit character—a welcome contrast to the campfire notes. Cool concept, good execution.

On draught at Alembic on Haight st during SF Beer Week.
Cloudy orange color with minimal foam or lacing. Mild orange peel nose. Medium body with a slight tart finish. The bitterness, although pronounced, isn't as floral as the smell would suggest. Does leave just a hint of brightness on the tongue afterwards.
My reference beer in the ipa type category is hoppy birthday by alpine. It's not in that class, but maybe that's not an orangepeel to orange comparison.

San Francisco Beer Week official beer. Smoked pale ale with a very delicate smokiness with strong malt backbone to support citrusy hops.
