Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing opaque black in the glass with a thin brown head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, drip coffee, cocoa and a little bit of vanilla, somewhat subdued. Flavor is dark toasted malt with light char, coffee, cocoa and light vanilla. Flavor thins out into the finish, but leaves a nice lightly charry malt and coffee aftertaste. Medium bodied with light creaminess. Aroma and initial taste are full-on imperial stout, but the flavor lightens up and finishes a little thin. The overall flavor depth is more like a porter than a stout. On the other hand, the ABV is well covered and the overall flavor profile is quite nice. Looks and tastes fine, but a little unstated for its size.

Pours opaque black with a very thin tan head that quickly disappears completely and leaves no lace.
The smell is somewhat subdued and consists of black coffee, faint burnt wood, dark chocolate, vanilla accents and a hint of booze.
The taste too, is rather bland: roasted, almost smoky dark grains, faint bitter black coffee, dark chocolate, a hint of vanilla and some booze on the finish.
The texture is medium bodied with low carbonation.
This is a mediocre example of an imperial stout. The aromas and flavors are muted and watered down. Not this brewery's best effort.
