A golden coloured, light bodied continental style beer. Saaz hops provide an initial fresh and zesty flavour with Styrian Goldings providing late aromas.

Tried a pint of this last night in Edinburgh, at the Standing Order smell was strongly of ammonia, we all described the taste and mouth feel as being of "like hair in your mouth" and the wife even described it as smelling like a hoover when the belts are burning out, a bit of a disaster darling.Perhaps it was a bad barrel or the last bit in the barrel.

I sampled this beer in the Mustard Seed restuarant in Inverness. When it arrived it was a clear golden colour with a thick white head. This displayed excellent retention, this surprised me for such a light beer.
The smell was rather bland, some hops and a slight hint of citrus zest. Not unpleasant, just bland.
The taste is initially dominated by hops, with a pleasant burst of lemon citrus followed by a hint of orange in the aftertaste. The consistency of the beer was better than it looked, I was expecting a light lager(ish) body, but instead I was pleasantly surprised it was medium bodied.
I enjoyed a few on the night and I would try it if I found it again. An ideal summer beer or would go well with a curry.
Since sampling it I have spoken to the owner of the Cairngorm brewery and he admitted that this was the same beer as Sheepshagers gold. However this is what they serve to restuarants and functions to "up the class" as he put it.
