Very dark ruby, with a very thin tan head. Almost no head at all. The smell is a hint of coffee, chocolate but overall it smells like a black liquorice AllSorts.

This is essentially like drinking an AllSorts. Coffee and chocolate are present, but mostly a big blast of liquorice.

Smooth, silky mouthfeel. Nice finishing beer. Sweetens as it warms. 6% ABV, but not even noticeable.

Note: the label said Pontefract Liquorice Stout (after the town of Pontefract - a big liquorice community), but it may be sold as Tomlinson's Liquorice Stout.
