Enjoyed on tap at 3 Squares in Maple Grove, MN on 11/10/17 in shaker pint glass.
The beer was dark brown, nearly black with a hint of ruby at the glass’s narrower bottom. Short-lived ½” head quickly receded to a narrow ring.
Aroma of roasted malt with a hint of licorice, cocoa and leather – with just a hint of hops.
Flavor of dark-roasted malts and those suggested by its aroma plus a hint of cherry. This is a nicely rich and complex beer.
It has a medium mouthfeel, which seems lighter next to the dark, complex flavor. This is very drinkable.
Freehouse and Lift Bridge have offered here a well-executed Baltic porter – complex and rich, but not intense, well blended for very easy drinking. I just hope I can have another one soon.
