one of the better beers they serve here at the brewery. lots of body on it, which i think is important in the style, and despite all the vibrant fruity yeast flavors in here, it ends up being on the dry and clean side for a hefeweizen, and its very good with some of their more adventurous food. banana is obvious in this one, a classic yeast is clearly used here, but they have developed a nice body with some fluffy wheat and likely something else, cara type barley or even oats. less spice than others, this is clean and easy, and although seemingly somewhat americanized, it definitely scratches the hefeweizen itch for me. creamy in the feel, weighty even, good with the spicy lamb skewers, and also sort of refreshing even though its bigger. i didnt think any of the beer here was particularly adventurous, but it was all quite well done, and as much as this hefe is prone to getting lost in the crowd, it is a very serviceable and enjoyable brew, summery and fairly priced. i could make an evening of these no problem, especially with the pizza here (which is awesome!).

This beer arrives a super cloudy pale orange-yellow color. The head is a solid inch of rocky white foam that recedes slowly leaving nice lacing. The aroma is of banana and lemon grass with a hint of clove. The taste is more or less similar to the aroma, but with a slightly stronger banana presence. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a moderately chewy texture, and lively carbonation. Overall, this is a nice hefe. It lies somewhere in between a traditional German hefe, and an American pale wheat ale--although it leans slightly more towards the hefe side. I like this beer, and wouldn't hesitate to order it again.
