A nice example of a Citra-hopped pale ale. Lots of juicy citrus flavor with no alcohol presence whatsoever. I preferred this to the Leonard Day IPA I also had at the brewpub.

Pours a hazy golden color with a very fresh head and beautiful lacing on the glass. Smell is dank citrus with sweet malts . Taste has a very nice citrus start fresh fruit with some earthy garden dank slight menthol and light malts. well balanced with enough citra to bump it from a session to just a nice PA with citra hops. really liked this one

this was definitely my favorite beer at the brewery (of the ones i had of course). its a sturdy pale ale, but with a somewhat delicate hop profile. the citra is balanced well (some may argue a little too well) but the pale and crystal malted barley base. i found it all to be in nice proportion, after all, its a pale not an ipa, and it certainly presents itself that way. i like the citrus notes in the hops, lemon zesty, fresh, but i also like the bready gain base, usually overlooked in this style, especially with some of the sexier hop varietals, which i would still consider citra to be. lively carbonation helps keep it a little lighter, and even though it has a decent body to it, its dry enough to be easy drinking. this one, like all three of the beers i had here, were better in a food context. they make great pizza here, and this beer seems to be built for that. none of the beer here blew my mind at the time, but also, i left here really satisfied and with a happy belly and a nice buzz, so they must be doing something right!this pale ale is a good place to start on their beer menu when you visit.

Day Block Citra Pale Ale arrives a clear bronze color. The head is small, but sticks around awhile. The aroma is grapefruit, passion fruit and blood orange. The taste is similar with a sharp bitterness throughout. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with a velvety texture, and moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a nice APA.
