Arrives an opaque jet black color. The head is a half inch in height, and sticks around longer than that of most barrel aged beers. The aroma 55% big stout, 45% bourbon barrel. Milk chocolate, roasted malt, oak, vanilla...lots of vanilla. The taste is slightly more barrel forward, but not so much that it becomes one dimensional. There is also a solid bitterness in the finish. The mouthfeel is full bodied with a velvety texture, and appropriately low carbonation. Overall, this is a really good BA Imperial Stout.
