This beer arrives a clear deep red color. The head is solid, and leaves ample lacing. The aroma is of grapefruit, and pine resin with some backing sweetness that isn't quite caramel. The taste is remarkably balanced for a beer that comes in at 100 IBUs. Grapefruit, resin, and hints of tangerine are there, and the malt sweetness adds some complexity. The IBUs come through sharply in the finish, and linger for minutes. The mouthfeel is full bodied with a silky texture. Carbonation is spot on. Overall, this is a really nice beer. On the IPA spectrum I would place it on the opposite end from NE IPAs. It leans on its bitterness, and has minimal in regards of hop flavor/aroma. That can be nice though. I find this take on an IPA refreshing in the current 'juicy' IPA dominated beer market.
