This is the old Jose Mc Intyres. I guess it was high time for Jose to be laid out to pasture and it looks so much nicer in here than it used to. They have received quite a bit of press in recent weeks about their food and craft beers so I decided to try it for a Friday lunch.
The beer selection is clearly a notch better than most of these financial district haunts used to have. I opted for Founders all day IPA on tap but there were others that I found interesting as well. Some other breweries I saw represented on draught were Boulevard, Mayflower, as well as the standard Harpoon and Sam Adams. I believe they also had one Belgian on draft but I forget which brand it was. The prices for their beers are about typical for downtown Boston--maybe 50 cents to a dollar less than some other area bars which is good.
The bartender was quite friendly and professional and we had a nice chat.I ordered the 3 beet salad and Baja fish tacos for lunch. Both were quite good although they didnt blow me away. Overall, a big improvement from Jose Mc Intyres and its nice to see some of these new places in the neighborhood step up their beer selection.
