Medium, super-froth head, with a clear orange, slightly yellow color.
Aromas of fresh pressed citrus, blood-orange and grapefruit, standing up well against white bread malts and slightly funky yeast.
Starts fruity, with ripe orange, lemon peel, and notes of cheese rind, while its true complexity is coming from the taste of ice-bonbons, carried by soft malts and a metallic carbonation. There is a really luxurious caramel malt profile here, which gives a lot of complexity to the uncompromising hop bitterness. While bearing a broad range of fruit flavors for a long time, during the finish the beer turns very dry, and finishes bitter, with slightly metallic hints, while a faint whiff of herbs and pepper comes up.

Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass from a .33l bottle purchased at the Craft Beer Store in Dresden, Germany.
APPEARANCE – Completely opaque pumpkin orange w/ lots of carbonation flowing strong. Frothy, thick off-white head that remains strong that lightly laces the glass.
SMELL – Sweet floral hop aroma.
TASTE – Malty sweet start w/ a hint of bitterness that doesn't quite match the expectations set w/ that strong hop aroma. Finishes with a light mint hoppy bitterness -- interesting but unimpressive.
MOUTHFEEL – Medium body with nice carbonation.
OVERALL – A pretty middle of the road IPA. Odd mismatch between the great aroma and relatively mild flavor, however, given it's country of origin I think this is a pretty good beer and one I'd be happy to enjoy again.

Light orange pour, a bit hazy, with an insanely looking white head: huge, frothy, dense, and pretty long lasting.
Smell of lime, grapefruit, lots of orange peel, faint sweetie. Nice herbal notes and some light caramel.
Nice herbal zing from the start, mixed in with some fruity sweetness and caramel. Peppermint, sage, tangerine, lime, faint pineapple, grapefruit rind, faint blood orange. Some sweet spots here and there, like candied orange slices. Surprisingly (weirdly, also?) it finishes exactly as it starts, citrusy and minty, a tiny bit more leafy and with a nice clean bitterness.
Malts are felt a bit in the aftertaste, somewhat bready and grainy. There's a nice light herbal minty aftermath and some citrus lingering too. Medium bodied, light to medium fizzed, well hidden alcohol.
A great balance of crisp and sweet citrus, a great herbal note, Polaris is a great hop to use in a single hop IPA, and Kehrwieder certainly didn't make a mock of it.

From a 0.33l bottle (€4.50) enjoyed at Cafe Abseits in Bamberg, on 27SEP14. Single Hop IPA using only Polaris.
Was a slightly hazy, orange marmalade hue. Had some fine, slow, scattered carbo. Head was light beige, thin and creamy. It thinned to the rim, with very nice lace in its wake. Had a funky aroma, as in a combo of mint and menthol; quite out of the ordinary. Had a medium body; quite solid and fairly smooth.
Started with light, toasty malt, though also with plenty of bitterness from the 65 IBUs. Was a touch rindy and pithy, along with the aforementioned minty aspect. Interesting but different; or is it different but interesting? Anyhow, prosit!!
