Yields a clear amber color with a froth, white head.
Offers up intense aromas of lime and grass, decorated by an orange whiff. Puts the nose into a fruity direction, while finding its balance in cakey malts. Its hop character is quite impressing, exhibiting many well fitting details, laminated oak, glazed orange peel and a touch of honey all adding to the well composed hop appearance, while still acting focused.
Has a fitting, medium carbonation, creating a smooth, very enjoyable mouthfeel.
Begins utmost hoppy, with a dry undertone to it from first glance, wrapping up crisp lemon together with a resinous floral bitterness. Its convincing hop presence gets gently balanced by coarse sugar sweetened bread and honey, showing off a flavorful malt backbone, supporting the distinct hops. Finishes with even more evolved malts, less fruit and a very long lasting bitterness, working its way down the palate.
One of the most enjoyable german ipas I ve had so far, featuring east coast ipa qualities in a creative, complex way. While it begins quite hoppy, it finishes a tad too sweet during the beers finish, while providing enough depth of flavors to keep the taste throughout convincing.
