Pours a cloudy, deep amber coloration with a large, fluffy head and visible carbonation. Smells of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and berry/stone fruit hops, with notes of strawberry, blackberry and peach. Taste is a great balance of biscuity, slightly caramelly malt and fruity, bitter and slightly resinous hops, with berry, stone fruit and lighter citrus notes of strawberry, blackberry, peach and grapefruit, as well as a good dose of pine. Finishes with a medium/strong bitterness and some strawberry, peach and pine lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This makes for an enjoyable wet-hopped Pale Ale that showcases Callista's unique flavor profile very nicely, with some distinct red berry and lighter stone fruit and citrus notes, as well as some pine, finishing with a great, resinous bitterness. There's a good caramel backbone to this as well, lending a certain East Coast vibe to this in combination with the bitter, resinous vibe. Perhaps just a little light-bodied, but really not too bad for the style, with great, lively carbonation.
