Appearance - Pours a caramel colour with three fingers of foamy white head.

Smell - citrus hops, grapefruit peel, caramel, bready malts, and hint of tropical and citrus fruits.

Taste - Hint of citrus hops and grapefruit peel. The caramel and bready malts dominate the brew which leaves the tropical and citrus fruits out of the loop.

Mouthfeel - Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Finishes sweet from the caramel and bready malts.

Overall - A subpar brew from 4 mile. The hops are non-existent in this brew and seeing as this is more malt dominated it doesn't work in its favour.

650ml bomber 5/18/2017
orange amber with some haze, bubbles of all sizes feed a thin film that manages to leave some spider web lace. Orange creamsicle, iced tea, vitamin c chewables, brown sugar, maybe some lemon and grapefruit, piney rind in the mouth, gritty pine finish

Eh this is one really good brew, congrats to 4 Mile BC for this one.

The label is one of the most beautiful out there, and be sure to look at it closely BEFORE drinking the beer.
Beer was stored in fridge, the put out for 2 hs before pour.
Beautiful golden and opaque, subtle scent, creamish head, very thin regular bubbles: a pleasure to look at.
Taste is quite unique, I'd say it's like a Stout and and IPA had a kid. Definitely on the oily side, and this is what betrays the booze level, which is a solid 9 but quite subtle in the mouth.
Very lingering. Definitely a beer to have good snacks on.

An awesome beer if you're into hops and booze and stout, a great beer for the rest.

650ml bottle - wow, a pretty heady moniker for a brew - feels like I should cue up some AC/DC or something for this one. Also, 'citrus twang shebang' - I wish I had come up with that!

This beer pours a mildly hazy, medium copper amber colour, with three fingers of puffy, loosely foamy, and bubbly ecru head, which leaves some random streaky and sudsy lace around the glass as it lazily recedes.

It smells of grainy and doughy caramel malt, buttered toast, citrus (grapefruit? it's hard to tell) cream, an earthy yeastiness, and some plain leafy, weedy, and perfumed floral green hop bitters. The taste is gritty and grainy caramel malt, a touch of biscuity toffee, some orange and white grapefruit acerbity, ethereal yeast, tame stoney notes, and more gentle earthy, musty, and dead floral 'verdant' hoppiness.

The carbonation is moderate in its straightforward frothiness, the body a solid middleweight, and more or less smooth, with a small airy creaminess getting in the way of any bitter hop intransigence here. It finishes trending dry, the various hop esters and sneaky as sin alcohol putting the clamps to the lingering malt.

Overall, this is a respectable enough version of the style, even if all the parts don't seem to quite mesh into a storm warning-worthy whole. Drinkable, especially with the well-integrated 18-proof booze factor, that is until a bolt of it zaps you right where you stand.

4 Mile Brewpub 'Thunder Bomber IPA' @ 9.0% , first served on tap at HOPoxia'15 , and from a squealer & 650 ml bottle purchased for $7.50 each
A-pour is gold from the tap/squealer/bottle to an amber in the glass with a medium size white head leaving a spotty lace along the pint
S-citrus hops , decent malt
T-real malty start , with a very dry finish
MF-ok carbonation , feels full bodied
Ov-just an ok local DIPA

The yeast character still shines through, in both the aroma and flavour. I'd call it an English strong ale, and it'd probably rate higher. Like a bigger 1845. Not very heady, but the thin ring shows some leg.
