Pure Pils is a Northern German-style Pilsner with a clean malt character, assertive but delicate bitterness, spicy noble hop aroma, and a crisp, dry finish. Its distinct German character comes from 100% imported German Pilsner malt and Bavarian-grown Hallertau Mittelfrüh hops, and long, cold lagering with pure lager yeast from Andechs, a Bavarian monastery brewery.

From a twelve ounce can that came from a mix-pack, this beer is nearly completely clear, light yellow-gold in color, and has a tall white head. The aroma has a notable floral quality, along with soft pale malt scents. The taste has a lightly sweet maltiness and a pleasant floral hop flavor and bitterness throughout. Soft and medium-light in mouthfeel. Solidly good.

I tried a pint this beer off the tapper at Q39 restaurant in Overland Park, Kansas. It poured a clear golden with thin white head that left a spotty lace. The scent had subtle grain and grass notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright malt base with saaz hop presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Slightly cloudy light golden color with a decent white had that settles down to just a ring fairly quickly but does manage some nice lacing.
The aroma is light sweet malt and spicy floral hops.
The taste is basically the same, very tasty lightly sweet malt and some floral hops that finish slightly spicy, very nicely balanced.
The body is light/medium, moderate carbonation, smooth and very easy to drink.
Altogether, this is an excellent Pilsner, nicely balanced, tasty and refreshing, what more could you ask for.

This pours pale with a thin, quickly dissipated head. The color is on the pale side and a bit hazy. I do not see this as a fault, especially considering the very traditional approach KC Bier brings to brewing.
The malt is evident in the aroma’s sweetness. The hops are present, too, in a spicy, floral note.
The taste is also a mix of malt and hops bitterness. The malts are light sweetness. The hops are a pervasive but not sharp or strong bitterness. The hops have staying power in the aftertaste, but as they fade more of the malt returns. This is perhaps the best balance of any Pilsner I have had.
This beer has body that shades into medium and avoids a watery finish. Carbonation is moderate and less than one might expect. I put this down to KC Bier permitting only natural carbonation. Some might find it detracts from the experience.
This is my go-to Pilsner. When I want sharper bitterness and carbonation, I will have a Bitburger. More often than not, though, I drink this.

12oz bottled 8-17-22 best by 2-17-22, opened 1-14-22.
2 finger white head with very good retention. Golden and slightly hazy/unfiltered body. Thick with lacing. Grassy hop spice dominates the aroma with an earthy clay malt backing and a hit of mint. Flavor follows the aroma closely - delicious spicy hops. Medium body with low-medium carbonation and a fuller mouthfeel than expected. Very Good.

Pours a cloudy effervescent golden color. Three finger sudsy white head forms on the beer, lingers a moment, and then dissolves leaving just a thin layer of foam on top of the beer.
Aroma has notes of sweet bread, honey, dough, and light grassy hops.
Taste follows the nose with notes of straw, white bread, honey, straw and dried grass with some lightly floral almost soapy hops.
Feel is light, crisp, with moderate carbonation. Semi-dry finish.
Overall a very nice German pilsner.

Appearance: Pours a medium, pale golden color with a soft white head. SRM of 7. (3.75)
Aroma: Mild aromas. Mild German pilsner malts with only a touch of grass. Possibly traces of lemon. Very faint here.
Flavor: Flavor follows with mild pale malts. They are a bit grassy. A little bit of bitter yeast and lemon come through the middle, before a light pilsner malt finish.
Feel: Medium bodied. Low carbonation, but the yeast makes up for it giving it a full body.
Compared to Surly Warp Zone Pils 9/12/20: Pours slightly darker with a smaller head. Less aromas and flavor. More German pilsner malts than lemon and flower. Less hoppy and more restrained
Overall: A decent drinking German Pilsner. Light aromas and flavors. Not overwhelming. The flavors improve as the beer warms. Nice and balanced. Slightly under-carbonated, but may be because the bottle was slightly older. Perhaps more fresh, it would be hoppier and more vibrant. Still and nice and no-frills drinking German-style pilsner. (Final Rating: 3.54)

Poured from 12-ounce bottle into a glass tumbler. Clear, light golden-colored body, with a couple of fingers of sudsy white head that left some pretty rings of sticky lacing as it settled. The brewer's description is spot-on. Aromas and flavors of bready malt and herbal and grassy hops, pleasantly bitter, and a crisp and dry finish with a peppery spice kick. This is a fine stand-alone sipper, but would make a great "food beer" as well. Overall, this is yet another excellent offering from KC Bier. Highly recommended.
