Pours black with two fingers of khaki head. Head retention is good. Aroma is toffee, raisins, molasses and dark fruits, with hearty nutty, biscuity, roasty malts behind. Alcohol remains in check, and is not discernible. Flavor profile is raisins, dark fruits, molasses, toffee and butterscotch. It gives off an almost muled wine-like flavor. Bready, toasty, nutty and roasted malts add depth and additional base. Alcohol remains balanced and nuanced into the flavor profile, never forming any hot spots. Mouth feel is velvety and smooth, with just enough graininess to bump it out of the 'creamy' category. It has a medium-thick to thick consistency. Overall, big and deep. Dark fruits and old-school candies are the draw, with hearty malts beneath. An intriguing and expressive beer.

Thanks to Harrison8 for this one. 12oz bottle poured into 14oz teku. Poured a nearly opaque dark mahogany color with just a thin cap of tan head that quickly dissipated and left no lacing.
A sweet scent, featuring some dark fruit, had the lead in the aroma department. A touch of alcohol, and a hint of grain finished it off. Very similar on the tongue, with a bit of spice (from the yeast?), and a very notable alcohol burn.
The body was smooth, and just on the full side of medium, with sticky-sweet finish. Drinkability was, although at this ABV, it's a sipper, not a quaffer. Overall, a very nice take on the style. Worth trying if you see it.
