Pours black with a finger of khaki foam. Head retention is okay. Aroma is roasty and toasty malts with sharp vanilla bean, cinnamon, molasses, and caramel poking through the stout base. It leans more sugary sweet without being overly cloyingly sweet, with dark chocolate offering a little resistance towards flipping to 'sweet'. Roasty and toasty malts set up the base well. Flavor profile is vanilla bean, cinnamon, toffee, caramel, molasses, and chocolate - both milk and dark. Emphasis on the latter, offering up some semi-bitter dark chocolate at the end. Semi-sweet out front with some sticky, artificial vanilla bean holding on through the malt base of roasty and toasty malts. That sticky vanilla comes on a bit too strong, based on its overwhelming endurance. Mouth feel is medium-thick with some gritty texture throughout. It lands in the 'chewy' texture, but short of being a full-blown meal. Overall, tastes like defeat, both by way of Brady crushing the Chiefs (is that fair to say? It was really the Bucs insane defense line.) and by Cigar City making KC Bier break the Reinheitsgebot law for the first time in KC Bier's history. In all seriousness, it's a little too sticky on the flavor addition side, which kills the smoothness.

Served in a 15.5oz Speigalau tulip from a 12oz bottle.
